Paint the Curtains
Colour my number
I just sell to the highest bidder
I only ever learned to come and work in one of your places
The furniture fits so neatly into your plan
It came yesterday in the furniture removal van
The ghetto blaster has to blow
Because it doesn’t go-go with the new ghetto
Paint the Curtains, baby
Paint the Curtains she said
Paint the Curtains
I’m going to paint the curtains in red
Colour my number
I just sell to the highest bidder
I only ever learned to come and work in one of your places
The furniture fits so neatly into your plan
It came yesterday in the furniture removal van
The ghetto blaster has to blow
Because it doesn’t go-go with the new ghetto
Paint the Curtains, baby
Paint the Curtains she said
Paint the Curtains
I’m going to paint the curtains in red
Aw paint the Curtains
Paint the Curtains she said
Paint the Curtains
And I’m going to paint the curtains in red
Scarlet red
Rose red
Love red
Coloured red
Rose red
Scarlet red
Blood red
Purple red
She said
Red with a hint of red

A work of considerable power and subtlety. Certainly a grower but I was hooked on first listen and it seems to improve on subsequent plays. Well done to everyone involved and good luck for the future, hopefully a long and successful future. simon1956smith

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
